I had contact with my first PC in 1995 and I was hooked up forever with computers.I started learning BASIC at 8 and began writing programs using Turbo Pascal back in 1998 for a High School Programming Contest at my hometown.I got my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences at the University of Computer Sciences (UCI), Havana, Cuba; where I did graduate with honours in 2007.I've worked professionally mostly with Microsoft .NET stack and also heavily used Docker for microservices, developed REST APIs and happily fought against a bunch of challenging user stories.Lately, I've been playing a lot with Azure and Cloud Computing technologies, NoSQL Databases, Elasticsearch and some other of the good things we see popping out these days.On my free time, I enjoy the company of my beautiful wife and my little girl Ema, I play soccer with my friends, listen to Joaquín Sabina and Metallica (usually not together ;-))
I am a person that really like challenges and test my skills or improve it, enhance processes, also make coding libraries or services so my team can improve performance. Besides loving to take challenges I also like to share experience and knowlegede to fellow co-workers or team, so we can grow toguether as great professionals. I feel that my greatest contribution to a project is to commit 100% and add a plus to what is expected so it can bring the best experience, improving UX, enhancing business logic and performance on the projects, the ability to absorb and analyze new technologies quickly and thoroughly; and thinking out of the box.
I'm a +10 years developer. I've helped manage a scrum team of +15 coders, part local and part remote, and flown by the company to Africa to get the product working and train users. I've also helped design and build a multi threaded and distributed transactional system that can process over 72,000 transactions per hour, all on .NET framework.I have a pretty good idea as to what my clients need and how to keep them posted on progress, specially if they are on the other side of the world.I have degree in Information Systems Engineering, and i've been working with Microsoft technologies for over 9 years, in projects ranging from transaction switchers and custom ERP systems.I'm a self driven developer, so I often take the lead in improving stuff and suggesting on how to do things better. I love to learn every nook and cranny of the frameworks i'm working on, and try to bring new stuff on board when I see that it would help the team and the product.
